Privacy Policy

Your photos never leave your phone.

Effective date: October 10, 2026

Ply is a photo carousel design app for iOS made by Barry Lachapelle.

The app

  • No accounts. Ply has no sign-up, sign-in, or user accounts.
  • Anonymous usage counts. Ply sends a handful of anonymous events to PostHog: when the app is installed, opened or closed, when you start a carousel, and when you save or share one. Each event carries basic device details (model, iOS version, language, app version) and a random ID that is created on your device and not tied to you. We use this only to see whether people are using Ply.
  • Nothing personal. No names, emails, photos, carousel content or contacts are ever sent. The data isn't linked to your identity, isn't sold, and isn't used for advertising.
  • Your photos stay yours. Photos you import are copied into Ply's private app storage on your device only. Photos you export are saved to your photo library using Apple's add-only permission, so Ply cannot read your photo library. Deleting a project (or the app) deletes its copies.
  • No tracking. No advertising, no ad identifiers, and nothing that follows you across other apps or websites.

This website

plyitup.com counts page visits with Fathom Analytics, a privacy-first service. It uses no cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personal information. Nothing from the website is connected to the app.

Changes

If a future version of Ply ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships.
